The Shin-mikurumayose (New Carriage Porch) was built anew for the Enthronement Ceremony of Emperor Taisho in 1915 to welcome the carriage procession carrying the Emperor. The name is the collective name used to refer to the entire structure, including the interior. Initially on the north side there used to be a corridor leading to the Otsunegoten, but this was demolished during the World War II, and today it is a stand-alone building.
