The kanmuri-bako (crown box) is an ornamental container used to store a ceremonial crown. It is decorated using the traditional technique of nashiji makie raden, which combines lacquer with sprinkled gold powder and mother-of-pearl inlay, creating a texture reminiscent of pear skin (nashiji). The box features motifs of paulownia and bamboo, and it was displayed on a stand with sagi-ashi (heron-leg-shaped) supports.
