The wisteria trellis over the Yatsuhashi Bridge spans approximately 180 square meters. The species, known as Noda-fuji, was planted when the stone bridge was constructed, and now grows on a trellis that spans directly over the bridge. In recent years, it produces flower clusters (inflorescences) measuring 30 to 60 cm in length around late April. After blooming, the plant bears fruit, which is carefully removed to prevent the tree from weakening.
