The Okosashiki-ue-no-ma is located to the east of the Kōgōgū Tsunegoten and is positioned east of the Jōdan-no-ma (Upper Room). On the west side of the room, there is an alcove (tokonoma) to the south, and to its north are a staggered shelf (chigai-dana) and a storage shelf with small sliding doors (fukuro-dana).The 12 sliding doors (fusuma) on the north, south, and east sides of the room, along with 6 panels in the alcove and shelves, are decorated with serene depictions of Miho no Matsubara, featuring Mt. Fuji and pine groves, painted by Kanō Eigaku. The fukuro-dana also features small sliding panels (ko-busuma) attributed to Maruyama Ōkyo, titled “Rainbow” and “Sheatfishes in Water” (the images shown are reproductions).
