The Ochozu-no-ma (literally, Hand-Washing Room) and the Asagarei-no-ma (literally, Breakfast Room) are located in the Nishi-bisashi （western narrow area on the west side of the Seiryōden）. This space, measuring one ken (bay) east-west and three ken north-south, is divided into two rooms using furnishings such as small shoji screens and a two-tiered shelf. The northern room is designated as the Ochozu-no-ma, and the southern room as the Asagarei-no-ma.
